Original Poems About Flowers
1.
I slept too long
in fields of flowers
and moths
chewed through my pockets
but that’s okay
they were empty
and I’m surrounded by flowers
2.
I should’ve been born a hummingbird
so I could just enjoy life’s sweetest things
like laughter, love, and lupine
bluebonnet fields all mine
3.
Flowers bow
as bees kiss them
happy to hear their buzz
for bees are the sweetest little creatures
and they kiss flowers
just because
4.
Flowers in the mountains
have a particular way
of making me smile
at the ground.
5.
Lovingly
longingly
laughingly
I brush the tops
of wildflowers
with my hand
6.
The sun took his descent
and the flowers bowed away
they tucked their petals close
in that same
splendid shutting
the end of every summer day.
7.
Pine trees wear long dresses
and flowers pretty crowns
and we
well we just pace and pace with anxiety
about our concrete towns
8.
Her eyes were stars,
her hands, nighttime flowers,
and her toes
well those
were just toes
but they were perfect.
9.
Endless company
flowers smiling and asking
“how do you do?”
Surrounded by
buzzing bees and sunshine
I’m wonderful, it’s true
10.
She put a flower in her hair
and around she spun
under the great, hot sun
and I couldn’t imagine
even a painting of much value
better done
11.
Flowers growing
happily
from cracked rocks
and me
well
I think I found my answer
12.
Flowers and trees:
their floral and piney
breaths of summer air
and not without a fight
they’d take me away
back to some bright screen
and that plastic, well-sat
comfortable chair
