Bear Poem Collection (4 Poems)

Original Bear Poem Collection

This bear poem collection will be updated and added to over time, so check back often.

I love including bears in my poetry. They’re my favorite creatures to see while backpacking and hiking (along with owls and snakes), and their presence around trails and campsites is a humbling reminder that I’m a guest in the mountains. Bears are also cute & ferocious, which is an intriguing combination.

If you like any of these bear poems, let me know in the comments.

Enjoy!

4.

Trailhead signs
point us where we need to go
they warn us of bears and coyotes
of water sources they let us know
but they can’t take our pictures
they’re only wood and steel
if they could just capture those
emotions
soon-to-be-hikers can only feel
